In order to receive points for a section, you must: Show reasonable, clear work on every problem. You will get 2 bonus points for each section you complete up to a maximum of 50 points. The ninth grade SHSAT is for first-time test takers and for students who want a second chance to apply to a Specialized High School. If you complete it, you will earn BONUS HOMEWORK points. The worksheets will cover all of the important skills, such as adding, subtracting, base ten, money, fractions, geometry, comparing numbers, measurement, time, place value, word problems and more, that students need to build their foundation, as the amazing math students that they are, while they are in first grade. 9th Grade Math Packet (For students entering 9th grade in August 2017) This packet is OPTIONAL. These worksheets help students develop their skills in first-grade math. There are only about one fiftieth (2) of the number seats available in 9th. So, while the number of students who take the test is a lot less, we see that the number of available spots is even less.
That is about a tenth (10) of the number of students who take the test in 8th grade: 30,000. The worksheets build on one another and increasingly get more challenging as students grow in their understanding. Approximately 3,000 students take the 9th grade SHSAT.
